How to use Mi Fam

Sign up with email and a password, or continue with Google. Everyone who signs up becomes the admin of their own family space and gets a starter branch they own. Nothing you add is public — Mi Fam has no public profiles and no search-by-name for strangers.

A branch is one household or family unit — for example "Lucas & Bre" or "Gigi & Steve". Open Family and add the people in your branch with their role: adult, teen, kid, or grandparent.

• Adults and teens can be invited to own their own profile.
• Kids are managed profiles — an adult keeps them updated, and their contact details stay hidden.
• Each person gets a personal profile page; each branch gets a branch page that links to everyone in it.

Add relationships (parent, child, sibling, spouse) between people so Mi Fam can work out how everyone connects — for example "cousin, from your mom's brother's daughter". Tag people as maternal or paternal side so the two sides of the family stay separate by default.

From a branch, choose a person and send them an invite. Because the invite is tied to that person's profile, when they accept, their new account is locked to the right spot in the family tree — no guessing about how they're related.

• Invites are valid for 14 days.
• Track everything in the Invites panel: sent, pending, accepted, expired.
• You can copy the link again, resend it (which resets the timer), or revoke it.
• If a relative already has the app, invite them from the branch profile you created for them so the relationship is verified.

Visibility is the heart of Mi Fam. By default, your mom's side doesn't see your dad's side and vice versa.

• Branch content stays inside the branch.
• When creating an event, pick exactly which branches are invited — choose both sides when it's a joint occasion.
• The family feed can be for everyone, or you can post to just your branch or a branch-to-branch thread.
• Admins set per-member View and Invite permissions on the Admin screen.

Create an event with a name, date and time, location, and the branches invited. Everyone invited sees it on the shared Calendar and can RSVP. Admins and the event host can edit the name, time, location, and invitee list afterwards.

Post photos, videos, and updates in the Feed. Switch between Everyone, My Branch, and Threads to control the audience. Only upload things you have the right to share.

Grandparent Mode is a simplified, large-type view with just the essentials — upcoming events, photos, and one-tap RSVP. When an admin turns it on for a branch, members of that branch land in the simple view automatically after signing in.

The Admin screen lets you promote or demote members, set per-branch View and Invite permissions, transfer branch ownership, and create new branches. Parents who create their own branch become the admin of that branch.

You can edit or clear optional details at any time, and delete your entire account and its data from Settings. Read the Privacy Statement for exactly what we store and why.
